Robot-monkey Tristan accidentally flicks a switch on the back of his head which allows him to speak normally. Joey and Duke don't trust him and believe he may have been sent by The Big Five. Yugi and the others catch up to Kaiba and Leichter's Duel. Leichter accuses Kaiba of betraying The Big Five and his brother and stepfather. He reveals how Kaiba gained leadership of KaibaCorp. When Seto passed his test set by Gozaburo, he and Mokuba won membership in KaibaCorp, including 2% each of KaibaCorp's stock. Seto went on to recruit all of the Big Five in an attempt to buy up 51% of KaibaCorp's stock, which would allow him to replace Gozaburo as owner of the company. However, Gozaburo learned of the plot and began buying up shares also. Kaiba accused Mokuba of telling Gozaburo of the plan and brought his brother in front of the Big Five, denouncing him for betraying them. Listening to Leichter's story with Noah in the present, Mokuba remembers that day as the worst day of his life. Mokuba then went to Gozaburo, confused and distraught. Gozaburo gave him support, knowing that having Mokuba on his side meant 2% more of the stock for him. As he and Seto each owned 49% of the company, this brought him to the desired 51%. After this scandal, Seto and the Big Five called a meeting with Gozaburo, claiming to hold all the shares they needed to vote him out of office. Gozaburo, knowing they only held 49%, prepared to have them all fired for their betrayal until Mokuba appeared and announced his support for his brother. This swayed the 51% majority to Seto, completely devastating Gozaburo. Back in the present, Leichter accuses Kaiba of being callous, using his own brother as a pawn in the knowledge that Mokuba would always stand by him, no matter how poorly Seto treated him. By letting Gozaburo think he he had won over Mokuba with his support, Gozaburo became so confident that he stopped buying shares. Kaiba is unfazed by these revelations, as he had made his choices to make a better life for him and Mokuba. Kaiba goes on to attack Leichter's combo, but Leichter continues to block him out. Still, Kaiba musters all his cards together, breaking apart Leichter's strategy and then summoning his ace monster to deal the final damage to Leichter and win the duel. Mokuba, having watched the Duel and listened to Leichter's accusations, is glad that his brother won, to Noah's shock. Noah had hoped that the new insight into Mokuba's past would create bitter feelings toward Seto. Even though it was a painful time for the two of them, Mokuba stands by Seto's decisions in taking over KaibaCorp.
