Hocine Senoussi, born February 8, 1935 in western Algeria, joined the ALN following the student strike of 1956. In 1957, he was sent to Cairo in Egypt, for a first internship as a fighter pilot in the School . from the air of Bilbeis (Egypt). Graduating from this school in 1959, he continued his training at the Baghdad military academy on Ilyushin Il-28 bombers. In 1961, he was selected for additional training on helicopters under the leadership of Lieutenant Said Ait Messaoudène in Bichek-Kyrgyzstan in the Soviet Union in the large training center. After independence, in 1962, he directed the first helicopter pilot school in Chéraga then the military air school in Laghouat. He was then military attaché in Tripoli, Baghdad, then in Rome before retiring in 1986 with the rank of Colonel. A man of culture, in the 1980s he was appointed director of the Office Riad El-Feth (OREF) in Algiers. Under his leadership, Algiers will abound with cultural movements and events including the Youth Festival in 1985, the international conference on Frantz Fanon etc. He will also be the initiator of the movement of exchange of painters between the two shores of the Mediterranean by giving new life to the Villa Abd el Latif as a place of residence and artistic creation. before his retirement in October 1987. Hocine Senoussi died on June 23, 2020 and was buried in the El Alia cemetery in Algiers.
